As a long-standing employer and supporter of young aspiring engineers Prism Power Group further cements it commitment to ‘earn and learn’ by joining The 5% Club
Prism Power Group has long been a supporter of educating young aspiring individuals in the field of engineering. Each year, we commit to taking on a new cohort of apprentices to develop a thriving young workforce that diversifies our company and influences the development and growth of engineering for the future. With apprentices accounting for 10% of Prism Power Group’s workforce, it has more than demonstrated its commitment to supporting young people in their development and careers. The company is proud to celebrate this achievement by joining The 5% Club, an industry led initiative focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and sponsored students.
The 5% Club, initiated byLeo Quinn Group Group CEO of Balfour Beatty in 2013, is a movement of more than700 employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable and create meaningful careers. Companies joining The5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years. Members are also asked to publicly report their progress in their Annual Report. Existing members range from SMEs to FTSEs and cover a number of diverse industries, from engineering through to the legal sector.
Having recently become aware of the work of the 5% Club and sharing its vision and goals for promoting opportunities to build and develop skills, Prism Power Group joined without hesitation. PrismPower Group has had a positive experience over the many years it has been offering apprenticeship and other learning opportunities and will continue to grow and develop that programme over the months and years ahead with plans to offer new apprenticeship opportunities during Q2 of 2022.
Director, Richard Russell-Hogg said, “We’ve always been passionate about developing the skills of the next generation of engineers and recognise the importance of learning and development opportunities across our organisation. Apprenticeships are a major part of that and we will continue to offer new opportunities on an annual basis to join us as an apprentice.”
Gill Cronin, Director of Operations of The 5% Club said, “We’re delighted to welcome Prism Power Group into membership. The 5% Club provides a fantastic network of HR professionals, sharing and learning from each other. All our members share an ethos of creating a skilled workforce through ‘earn and learn’ development programmes, helping people develop meaningful career paths.”
